Original Prusa Mini: Smarter, Compact, opensource and affordable 3D printer.

After developing the most loved and trusted 3d Printer “Original Prusa i3 MK3S” Prusa Research which is run By “Joseph Prusa” has launched a new 3D printer “Original Prusa Mini” which is compact, smarter and opensource at just half the price($350) of the “Original i3 MK3S” ($749).

Some people expected a large printer from Prusa Industries but “Prusa” came out with a printer that is more affordable and compact in size.
The “Original Prusa Mini” has some really advanced and smart features focusing on building a 3D printer Farm.
Features like out of the box Networking with ethernet or optional Wifi can be used to connect 500s of such 3D printer via LAN and enables the user to control the printers simultaneously which is the first requirement (Connectivity) for a 3D printer farm
Specs

The “Original Prusa Mini” has a build volume of 18x18x18 cm (7x7x7 in), can achieve a layer height of 0.05 – 0.35 mm, max travel speed of 200+ mm/s , max hotend temp. of 280 °C and max bed temperature of 100 °C ,filment diameter 1.75mm , nozzel diameter 0.4mm (default) with other nozzle diameters supported, supported material PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS , 3 thermistors and a fan RPM sensors, Ethernet and Wifi and many necessary features and lined up future upgrades.
32-Bit Motherboard

Prusa Mini also changed its electronics to a custom made STM32 bit motherboard based on ARM STM32F407 chipset and runs a RTOS (Real-Time OS) which allows the 3D printer to run things in parallel – one thread is reserved for Marlin 2 (motion planning), the second thread is for LCD GUI and the third one is for networking.
Silent Stepper Motor Motion

The newly added Trinamic 2209 drivers help to achieve a silent stepper motor drive.
Network Connectivity

Standard with an ethernet RJ45 port
Colored LCD Screen

Configure your 3D printer with ease and see previews of sliced models before you start printing! Thanks to the 2.8’’, 240×320 LCD screen with 65.000 colors, every option is just a few clicks away.

The color LCD enables the user to see an instant preview of the gcode uploaded.
Flexible Print Sheet

Magnetic heatbed and removable spring steel sheets, to remove a printed object just by bending the steel sheet. The surface is easy to maintain and comes in two variants: smooth and textured.
Future Upgrades for Prusa Mini
- Power Panic support.
- Wifi Connection Compatibility using ESP module.
- OTA firmware Upgrades.
- 3D printer Farm management software
